We have encountered an issue with Template Builder… a site we are developing has (at the moment) 106 dynamic templates.
I am trying to configure the last couple of templates I have just added. Adding a ‘columns’ section and then selecting ‘individual page’…. for the first column… but the ‘Select Page’ dropdown menu does not get populated (all it has is ‘Select Page’).
I have tried logging out/in, hard refreshes, etc. Still not working.
This only happens with the last couple of templates in the list. Is there a limit which is causing this to break? How can I get around this?
    Thanks in advance!

Update: in the 105th dynamic template in the list, there is 1 ‘columns’ widget that is saved and works OK.
When I add a second ‘columns’ widget, and save, then go out of the template and back, it disappears (even though when I ‘save all changes’ it doesn’t report an error).
So it looks like the Template Builder is not allowing me to add and save any more widgets in the final templates.
    Help please! :)

I have tried adding some more templates (which are required), and now there is no ‘add elements’ section appearing in the later templates… only the ‘remove this template’ option!
Something’s wrong with the ‘add element’ functionality when going over 104 or so templates (or could there be a limit on the number of widgets overall?)

Thank you for using the theme. I hope you’re doing great.

Wow.. over a hundred templates? Anyway, can you please give us a link to the website? Try to increase the wordpress php memory limit. I’ll ask Dude and Kriesi to look into this. I’m not sure if there is a limit on the number of templates that you can build.

    Best regards,

No, I’m not aware of any limitation within the code but I’ll ask Kriesi.

I remember this coming up maybe a year or so ago. If I remember correctly the users ended up using less templates as it was the only way to continue to edit the templates without issue. It was somewhere around 100 as well so it might just be the limit of where issues start to happen.

this might be an issue with your server not accepting enough post variables. you can try to add the following code to the top of your htaccess file:

    php_value 8000
    php_value suhosin.request.max_vars 8000

This usually helps when a user wants to create 100s of menu items in the wordpress menu editor, maybe it also helps in your case…

great, let me know if it works ;)
