Is there a limit to the number of elements you can put into the template builder?

I’m adding the ninth and I keep getting the error “Saving didn’t work. Please try again in a few seconds”

If I take that last element out it saves fine.

If there is a limit, can it be changed?

I tried to reproduce the error on my test server but I couldn’t. I created 15 templates and all were saved flawlessly and I could mosave them w/o problems. However I asked Kriesi if he’s aware of any limitations.

I tried it again today and I still get the same error.

It seems to happen when I add a new row of columns. I tried adding another ruler and that saved ok. When I add another column element it doesn’t like it.

UPDATE: I just removed some old templates I wasn’t using and now it lets me save ok. Is there a global limit to the total amount of template elements you can use, perhaps?

Good to see you could solve it. I’m also unaware of any limits regarding the template builder.

After getting various error messages from the Template Builder today like “Saving didn’t work. Please try again in a few seconds”, I’m now getting this: “Something went wrong, please try again in a few seconds. The script returned the following error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 322161 bytes) in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/sos/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 774″

Which sounds like a 33mb limit on the WP database. Is this right and is there anyway to make it bigger?

I think this is why I am having trouble saving templates.

    I think I solved it.

It was a problem with MAMP. The Memory limit for the PHP was set to 32MB so I upped it to 64MB and now it seems to be ok.

Hopefully the online server wont have a problem with that.

It’s here if anyone wants to know:

Again, good to see you’ve solved the issue :)
