    Please have a look at http://farizahsedek.com

    The front page was built using Template Builder. The top part I used the option “Columns” and the bottom part displays the “Blog”.

    Under “Columns” I selected 33-33-33%, Widgets, naming them Widget 1, Widget 2, Widget 3.

    As you can see, these widgets are not working as they should.

    The widgets under the “Blog” works just fine. For comparison, look at the widget with the e-book. Both are using exactly the same coding.

    How can I get the Column widgets to work normally like the Blog widgets?

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi,

    can you elaborate please. I could only test the “Discover how to…” widget (because the other two widget areas just contain a “Coming soon” text widget) but it it worked fine for me. I was able to enter a Name + Email (test and (Email address hidden if logged out) ) and the form button redirected me to the download page. I’m not sure what’s not working atm.

    Hi,

    I don’t mean the content of the widgets – I mean the widgets themselves.

    I have uploaded screenshots of the frontend and the backend and some description. I hope it is clearer now as you can see what I mean by showing you these screenshots. If not, please let me know if you need more information.

    There is a problem with the styling of the Template widgets as you point out. They aren’t drawn with the white holding box like the other elements in the theme. I mentioned this myself about a year ago, but I can’t remember what Kriesi said. Something about the way the divs are constructed.

    I think you can cheat it by putting in the box yourself in css if you can identify each individual widget. I’m sure Dude can help you.

    Hi Rich – yes that’s precisely what I meant. :-)

    And also, how to get rid of the grey border around the tables on these widgets.

    I’ll wait for what Dude will say, or try to search for your earlier query. Thanks.

    Well, just messing about in firebug you can delete the borders like this:

    td {border:none;}

    td:first-child {border:none;}

    But that might be too generic and it might affect other tables on your site. You probably need to target that specific widget somehow, as I mentioned before. If it’s a text widget it usually has a specific index number. Same for adding in the white box and it’s drop shadow.

    The three you created seem to be called text-15, text-16 and text-12 in that order across the page.

    So you could try something like

    #text-12 .textwidget td {border:none;}

    #text-12 .textwidget td:first-child {border:none;}

    But I’m kind of guessing here! The guys will know the correct way to code it.

    Hi rizsedek,

    You’ll need to add the widget styles to the main container since they all have the sidebar class as a needed part of their styles. Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    .container_wrap .widget {
    background: #fff;
    -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1);
    -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1);
    box-shadow: 0 1px 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1);
    border-top: 1px solid #F1F1F1;
    padding: 20px;
    }
    .container_wrap .widgettitle {
    font-size: 10px;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-transform: uppercase;
    letter-spacing: 1.5px;
    padding-bottom: 10px;
    }

    For your tables, you can target them individually as Rich said with:

    #text-12 td {
    border: none;
    }

    You guys are awesome!

    Thank you. :-) It works now.

    Cool. Just remember that if for some reason you change one of the widgets (remove it and add a new one etc), you will probably change its index number, in which case you will need to find out what the new one is so you can target it again.

    Glad we got it fixed for you :O)

    The main styles should work without issue since I just added them into the main container. The table css however will need to be adjusted for other widgets so just keep that in mind.

    Regards,

    Devin
