Not sure ho to explain my topic. With the last update I had a few issues which Nick helped me with. Whilst sorting these out default wordpress themes were installed to try to find the source of the problem since it was not a theme issue.

Whilst doing my regular updates I noticed that these themes were still there. They won’t delete. I have tried from the wordpress dashboard and also in cPanel. I contacted Hostgator who were of no help.

Whilst the site still works with these there, it is better for security purposes if they are not. They all have updates which I am unable to do – it comes back with an error notice.

    Clearly something is wrong.

Hoping someone can help me with this issue.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sharon,

You will probably need delete them via FTP if you are unable to through the WordPress admin. If the permissions on your server are such that the WordPress user level isn’t able to delete theme as well as your users level through cpanel that would be my guess.

But having additional themes in the themes folders has no negative effects on your security. They are inactive and not affecting your installation.

    Regards,

    Devin
