Sorry Tim Thumb again…. but I have read the posts and I can’t find an answer to my question:

I have Display theme and was alerted to the vulnerability with the timthumb version originally included. I tried just replacing timthumb.php with the one from (http://timthumb.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/timthumb.php) but on doing this the images became little broken image squares when I refreshed the page.

After reading the forum it seems upgrading the template might be required, so I downloaded the latest version of Display, removed the /display directory and re-installed Display. The slider on the homepage was replaced with the default template one (but I wasn’t worried about that as I was happy to set it up again) but the images on the homepage were little broken squares again.

I reverted the template directory and I’m back to square 1 again (workign but vulnerable) but I’m not sure how to proceed ? Do you know of any issues that would stop the new version of timthumb working on a site?

    Thanks

    Steve

Sorry soon after posting I found out that timthumb could not write to the cache folder. Created one in the same folder as the .php file and set permissions and this worked. Thanks. I put this on the end of the website URL to see the error message.

    wp-content/themes/display/framework/includes/timthumb.php
