    Too many questions!!!.

    I’m trying to finish my site http://federico-antelo.org/welcome but I have some problems I could not solve yet. I wish you could help me!!!.

    1- Fonts: all the menu fonts are too big for me, so, how can I reduce the size?, can I add new fonts?, how can I do that?.

    2- The side where the menu is settled: if I go through the site in Firefox / chrome / IE, the sidebar goes up and down while I scroll through the page, and this is a very big problem for me. Only with SAFARI the sidebar stay fixed at its place while you scrolling.

    3- I would like to use the “sociable”, but it has too many icons and too big also, how can I reduce the number of icons?, and its sizes?.

    4- I like the “3 column gallery” to the portfolio, but the thumbnails does not keep the original proportion and I can not control the preview, can I change this?, is it possible?.

    Thanks for your help, and PLEASE, if I have to modify css files or codes, please give me all the information you can as I’m new with this.

    Thanks and regards

    Bramante

    Hey,

    1) You can use following code in css/custom.css:

    .main_menu .menu li a strong {
    font-size: 14px;
    }

    .main_menu .menu li a span {
    font-size: 11px;
    }

    The first line will change the font size of the “big headline”, the second will change the small description text underneath.

    2) The sidebar moves in all browsers for me (safari too). It’s at the moment not possible to use a fixed sidebar. You can try to add following code to css/custom.css:

    .sidebar.sidebar_absolute {
    position: fixed;
    }

    but to be honest this causes wired results in some browsers. The demo itself: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/ doesn’t contain a fixed sidebar too. Only if the content doesn’t require scrolling the sidebar doesn’t move – (that’s obviously “no trick”) but depends on the content length.

    3) I think so – you can selec/deselect the icons you don’t need (Go to Settings > Sociable > “Icons to Include”).

    4) You can adjust the thumbnail dimensions in functions.php. I’d change the height values only because the different width values can/will break the layout. Afterwards regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Hi,

    1- I did what you told me but I can not see the changes!!!, I pasted the code you have gave to me into the .css file and then I re-install the theme in my wordpress but nothing happens…Maybe I did some mistake, but I do not know where.

    2- Same as above.

    3- Done it, thank you!!!.

    Is it possible to add new fonts?

    Regards

    1) Did you change the font size values too?

    2) Basically the sidebar position should be fixed – but again the result is wired and it would require some mods to align the sidebar properly.

    3) Yes – you can use the font-face attribute(i.e. refer to: http://www.css3.info/preview/web-fonts-with-font-face/ and you can create font face kits here: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator ). Basically it works like the standard “font-familiy” css attribute but you need to include the custom font files first.

    Thanks, I will try again!!!.

    Hope it works :)

    Hello, I’ve got 2 similar problems:

    1st: When I work offline (local host xampp) firebug/firefox show me the custom.css file…when I’m online (http://www.asiapalermo.it/svizzero/flashlight) it seems there’s not custom style sheet..and of course the browser doesn’t applies the styles.

    2nd: I added to my custom.css the following code to modify the menu style (font Josefine Common Characters):

    .main_menu .menu li a strong {

    font-size: 14px;

    font-weight: bold;

    color: #111111;

    }

    .main_menu .menu li a span {

    font-size: 13px;

    font-variant: small-caps;

    }

    the second line changes without problems (via xampp) but the first line (the bigger one) doesn’t changes the weight nor the color….it changes only the size. Why?

    Can you help me please?

    Solved the problem no.1…

    still can’t change the weight or the color of the first line in the menu..

    #56609

    Solved also the color…the weight doesn’t work…but is not a big deal =)

    Hey,

    have you tried adding “important” to your CSS? This usually override other settings.

    For example:

    font-weight: bold !important;

    Doesn’t work but is not a big deal! Thank You! ;)

    Hi Dude,

    I am referring to your answer above concerning fonts.

    I need a little bit more details on how to do that:

    I would like to choose another font – like Trebuchet MS for example, or the same font used in the template (where is this?)

    What do I have to do. (Sorry, needless to say I dont know a lot about css, trying to find my way)

    Thank you!
