one of the features I enjoy with Twicet is the combination of different widget positions — the front page has them at the bottom, posts have the side bar, and then the portfolio page has a set of three new widgets at the bottom. Only– the portfolio page is locked in to the portfolio feature.
I would like to take those widgets and add them in to another template, perhaps the ‘wide page’ template which has been provided in other threads.
I found this is not as simple as taking a ‘draw footer widgets’ section from another template. Is it possible for you to tell me either which piece of the Portfolio page to replace with a blog post page’s content draw, or alternatively could you tell me which piece of the portfolio page to remove, to place in to a blog post’s page?
Thanks for anything you can tell me.
when it comes to adding widgets areas I can only give you a hint – this tutorial tells you how to add widget areas: http://www.webologist.co.uk/web-design/how-to-add-widget-areas-to-your-wordpress-theme.
Thank you, Chris, with that tutorial i can add/replace widget areas throughout the theme.
