I’m trying to add the slider to the side but for some reason whenever I add an entry to the slider I get a page not found.

It still works when I haven’t published it. Preview url:

When I publish it the domain is: but all that I get is a page not found message.

    What is the problem?

If you’re getting 404 Page Not Found errors, you need to flush your rewrite rules.

To do this, you need to load and save your Permalinks settings page (WP Admin -> Settings -> Permalinks).

If that doesn’t work can you post a link please?

Thanks that worked. Only problem now is that the slider is not displaying on frontpage. Only get one post and i even have a sidebar…

Did you change the Reading settings? Maybe you selected a static front page – if yes please set everything back to standard configuration.

No checked that. Frontpage is not static. It’s set to ‘latest posts’.

I’ll check that with your other problem :D.

Hey Dude, how goes it? I’m having error 404 message issues too. I loaded the plug-in for ultimate seo, and every time i log on to my edit page i have new error messages for both my French and English sites.

The most popular error messages are the following, it appears on both sites:

I am also getting error messages for older pages that I have updated and changed permalinks for.

Are there functions buried in web-page-coding that allow you to specify how long visiting web browsers should cache pages. I don’t know the

programming codes. Can they be adapted to wordpress.

    Thanks in advance

Strange behaviour, normally you only need to flush permalinks when you change their structure. I can’t say what’s going on as there are too many influences (plugins, permalink structure changes, caching, etc.). What cache plugin do you use? Maybe try to flush your permalinks again.

I don’t use a cache plug in. Should I get one?

I’ve flushed each site’s permalink’s page. I’ll let you know if the 404’s persist.

Yes caching can improve the website performance (loading time, database queries, etc.)
