If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I have that the image size for Portfolio Single Entries is 930 x 930; and that the image size for Portfolio Entries (2,3,4 column) is 450 x 335.
They’re obviously not going to scale without cropping or distortion,
so.., can I use two different photos in these two places i.e. one image on a page when collectively shown with other items from the same porttfolio category; and a different image when the portfolio item has a page to itself ?
I am not sure if this is possible nor did I understood your inquiry correctly.
I will forward this among the support staff to better help you out.
If I understand correctly, you don’t actually need to do that. The image size will be adjusted to fit all the various layouts for the site.
If you’d like to have complete control of how the image appears at each of the different sizes, you can upload your own image to the image folder where everything is saved after upload. This depends on your settings but generally its in wp-content somewhere. You can then replace the image for each specific size. The file will be called *filename-filesize.png(or jpg etc).
Just connnect via FTP to that folder and replace the specific file with your own of the exact same size and file name.
