    When a slideshow first opens on a PC, the image box nicely slides open to the correct height for the image. However on ipad and Mac, the image height is stretched and appears to be changing while the box size animates. It then pings back to the correct image height once the box is the right size. This creates an ugly effect, particularly horrible with faces, which for the wedding photographer’s site I’m building is obviously no good.

    The Eunoia theme is up to date.

    So I’m looking for a way to either fix the issue or switch off the initial animation altogether.

    Thanks

    Hi grahamdd!

    You can set a default height for the slideshow – this should avoid a noticeable image distortion. If you want to set different default heights for different devices/screen sizes you can combine the code with media queries.

    I.e. following css code

    #top .slideshow {
    height: 300px;
    }

    to set the default slideshow height to 300px. If you just want to change the default height for devices with smaller screen resolutions use

    @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
    #top .slideshow {
    height: 300px;
    }
    }

    and adjust the max-width value (screen size in px – currently set to 767px) and the height value of the slideshow if necessary.

    Cheers!
    Peter
