I’m unable to replace or upload any files in the Habitat folder through FTP. I changed all permissions to 777 and have tested all of the other folders on the server. They all accept overwrites and upping new files.

I even made a ‘footer-test.php’ file to test just uploading to the folder and am still unable to send anything there.

    Is this a common problem?

    Hey,

This sounds like a problem with you host, perhaps a temporary glitch. If you duplicate the Habitat folder in your local version (i.e. on your computer) can you upload this folder or are you getting problems?

Did you originally use FTP or upload the theme folder through WP? This may be incorrect permissions (folder owner not 777) causing the problem if it was through WP.

    Hey James –

I am still having this issue (just getting back to building site now). I originally uploaded the theme through WP.

For some reason, I can’t even change the permissions on the folder through the hosting root file manager. I’m unable to upload any images via FTP, but I can upload images posts through the WP interface.

I’m trying to customize the theme, but can’t replace or update any images within the theme. So weird.

Or, I guess a workaround for the time being would be where do I find the code that points to the file style1.css if I can only do updates through the WP editor? Thanks!

I’m sorry – it was some crazy root permissions errors. I’m having to go in and change the permissions of each file individually. I’ve never seen anything like it before. This is the first time its ever happened with WP themes….

Glad that you found the problem :)
