    Hi,

I’ve just updated enfold to version 3.6.1. After the update my website was down. But just the frontend. The backed worked.

On the frontend I got a server error (500). Switching the theme in the backend to another one. The frontend works.
I tried the update by using the normal automatic update way over the backend. Error. And by using FTP. Also … error.

I’m using an enfold- child theme. Maybe the connection between child-theme and the original enfold got ‘broken’ through the update? Switching to the original (updated) enfold theme works also fine, but didn’t looked the way I wanted (that’s wy I’m using a child-theme).

A backup of the previous theme saved me and brought my site back online. But now I want to know, how I get a working update of the enfold theme.

    Greetings, Jens

    Hi,

I tried to troubleshoot this issue but the login credentials you provided do not work for me. Would you mind checking once again and then send us working login credentials?

The user role for the account you send us should be set to ‘administrator’ so we can try to disable all plugins and add custom code (if necessary) to resolve the issue.

However please refer to this link https://kriesi.at/support/topic/having-problems-after-updating-to-enfold-3-6-please-read-this-first/

If it does not help, I am afraid you might need to update the theme manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,

    sorry for the login-problems …
Your link to the short update-workaround was the solution: The problem was the deprecated function name in the child-theme header.php. Thanks!

    Greetings, jens
