    Hi there,

Would like to enquire: I’ve made some changes to the theme files previously and would like to update the theme. Is there a way to translate my current theme files into a child theme, and then still update the latest theme version to avoid losing changes made to the php files?

    Thank you

    Hey Jon!

Yes it is recommended to move all the php files to which changes are made to a child theme and then only update the main theme also don’t forget to export the enfold theme options settings.

    Cheers!

Hi Vinay, thank you for your quick reply! The problem I’m facing now is that I don’t know which theme file was modified. So I’m not sure which file to copy over to the child theme. Do you know of any way to do so?

    Thank you again.

    Hey!

I’m sorry but we won’t be able to help you trace back all those modifications. You should probably contact the developer who created the modifications. This is why it’s so important to create a change log in case you modified the theme.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
