    Trying to update wordpress and receiving this error:

    Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.1.3.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Warning: copy(/homepages/41/d369911849/htdocs/app369913502/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/41/d369911849/htdocs/app369913502/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

    Could not copy files.

    Installation Failed

    Is this something wrong with the theme or hosting? Tried changing the file permissions but nothing.

    Hey,

    we never got any error reports which may indicate that Newscast causes this wordpress update error. According the error message I assume it’s a file permission error. Maybe try to upload the files manually via ftp.

    Yeah, tried to change the file permissions and nothing and then uploaded the diles manually and still nothing.

    What happens if you upgrade wp manually? Do you get a php error message?

    #46971

    When I upload it through FileZilla it appears to upload all the files but nothing happens.

    Hey,

    basically the update shouldn’t effect the workflow and you won’t notice a difference – can you post a link to your site – I can check if the update was successful afterwards.

    Hey,

    the template is updated – according to style.css you use version 2.0.2:

    /*
    Theme Name: Newscast
    Description: A sleek themeforest Blog and Magazine Theme
    Version: 2.0.2
    Author: Kriesi
    Author URI: http://www.kriesi.at
    */
