    Hi,

I am not running a Child Theme and I need to upgrade ENFOLD from 3.1.5 to 3.5.4. I am concerned I am going to
lose a lot of the functionality of the site.

Apart from the custom CSS what should I be aware of that I might lose with an upgrade and what else should I back up..

    Thanks
    Brian

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

Since you are using a Child Theme you should not have to worry about losing functionality. As long as any changes you have made to the theme’s files and functionality are made in the child theme and not the parent theme.

But feel free to back up all your files as a fail safe.

    Best regards,
    Jordan

    Hi,

As stated previously I am NOT running a Child Theme so i need to know what the update will delete!

    Thanks
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

It will remove any changes you made to the theme files directly. So if you edited the functions.php file for example, all those changes will be gone from that file.

Theme settings changed in the theme options will be fine.

    Best regards,

So if I back up the custom CSS & the functions.php I should be OK?

    Hi,

Yes, if those are the only files you’ve edited.

    Best regards,
    Jordan
