    Hi,

Firstly, congrats on a lovely set of themes!

Ive just purchased Display and I am wondering whether it is possible to set up the Slider on the homepage so that it uses images from posts in a specific category. For example I would like to be able to make a post to a portfolio category with a large image and have it display it and link to that post if you click on the slider. I know this is probably a two part question as I know you would have to change the size of the slider first (which I have seen you can do) to match the default wordpress size image post (large). Then I imagine add some code to generate the XML for the slider to include the path to the post images.

Is this possible – if not I think it is possible with another of your themes?

Also I am a Flash developer and I would like to eventually use the XML file that is generated for the slider to run a custom swf with my own Papervision visualisations of the posts instead of the slider. Which in php file is the XML generated from so I can add some further customisation to the tags that are generated?

    Thanks!

You can use the image manager or config.xml to define custom links (i.e, to certain posts). You can’t display post images automatically – you must include them in config.xml or via the image manager (under Display Options)

If you want to modify the xml file generation so that it’s possible to display post/page images automatically (without adding them manually) you need to modify dont_edit.php located under display > slideshow >dont_edit.php — but please be aware that we can’t help you with the modification as this is beyond the scope of this support forum.
