I want to have 1 demo flv to be used within the slider on the home page. I found an example of yours and it works with your flv (http://www.kriesi.at/themes/cleancut/files/2010/06/cloud.flv) , but when I add my own flv it doesn't seem to want to load. Are there specific settings/sizes for your flv to work) My flv is 720x405 and around 16mbs...

It's probably the size of the .flv file that is causing the problem - does the http://www.kriesi.at/themes/cleancut/files/2010/06/cloud.flv file load if you use this?
What's your site URL?
Yes the cloud flv from your link does work. I also tried loading a small flv (also called cloud) onto my ftp and using it, but i ran into the same problem. My url is http://ideationfilms.com/index/
