not a support questionApologies if this has been asked but is there a way to use excerpts of posts in the columns on the main page? I know I can use the more tag... but I'd really like to write a custom excerpt for a post and not use more tags (so that on my blog page the user sees the entire post).

Sure, open up /framework/classes/kclass_display_box.php and change this (around line 122):
the_content('');
to this:
the_excerpt('');
You might also want to change archive.php (line 73) from this:
the_content(__('Read more ยป','cleancut'));
to this:
the_excerpt();
if you want to change this on archive pages (such as http://www.kriesi.at/themes/cleancut/category/infos/), thought you'd also need to add a Read More button if you still want the link.
This forum runs on BB Press (http://bbpress.org), if you're considering using it yourself it's also being ported to a WordPress plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/ but it's not ready yet.
