I was looking for a resolution for this issue, but Devin’s last comment : “Thanks Lyse. Not sure what will come of it, but we’ll look at the server setups to see if anything fits together that might be causing the issue. ” closed the topic for further posts.
I’m finding it quite labour extensive to copy and paste from the sample shortcodes to my page content to create the shortcodes. I find that I spin around styling to get the results I want.
Any possibility of finding what is going wrong that will not allow me to use the shortcodes dropdown list?
Please, I have two website that have the same issue….

Unfortunately there has not been any kind of resolution to the issue as it doesn’t seem to have a common cause for each user. Some have found success in having their host adjust the mod_security rules in relation to their wordpress install but others have found that this did nothing.
Not every web host is created equal and it appears as though some have issues with this particular feature for a reason that is not easily identifiable. If we can figure out what that is, hopefully a fix can be provided or included with a future update.

Thank you for trying. Hopefully in the near future, there will be a way. (I will try to get the mod_security rules adjusted)
Question remain: do the shortcodes have values/attributes/options that are not included in the sample shortcodes page. For example: width, height, background colors, etc…. If they exist, when can I find these – are they documented anywhere?

To change the width, height, background color, etc. you would need add the shortcode’s CSS to your custom.css. You can find the default CSS in /css/shortcodes.css. You may also need to use an application like Firebug (for Firefox) or Chrome’s Developer Tools to help with the class name you need to use.
