In my shop, I have only variable products. I need this because I need color and size filters.
In my Template Builder, I have created Products slide with all my categories, but the Variable products I saw that are not appear. Only simple products.
How can I insert in that frontpage slide my latest Variable Products?July 6, 2012 at 5:06 am #81467
You can add an image then link it manually to the Latest Variable Products.

Thank you for your answer.
The idea is that I will have many many products daily updated and I can not afford to take all the products to manually modify them.
If I don’t have an option for this slide to list me Recent Products and Top Rated Products, maybe there’s a way to edit or duplicate this slide code and to insert it on my index page, right?
Can you please tell me where I can find the code for the slide? Or, if you have any idea for my issue, please tell me!

I’m not really sure if I’m following you correctly. You don’t want to edit index.php. If you want the code for the slider, you can open includes > helper-slideshow.php. Unfortunately, I can’t help you about automatically inserting all your latest products on the frontpage slider.
What I’m suggesting is to create a page called for example “Latest Variable Products”, then on the that page insert the related images for each Variable Products and link them to their respective single product page. Go to Template Builder > Insert the slideshow element then select the “Latest Variable Products” page. Other than that or editing the slideshow which I can’t help you with, I doubt if there is an easier way.
Anyway, let me tag the rest of the support team to help you out. :)

I might be wrong, but what if you create a “last variable products” category, and set up your front page template with a products element picking this category?

I think Sophie has a good idea with that. You can use a category to easily update your latest added products and then you won’t have to touch any code or anything.

Thank you all for your answers. Sophie has a good idea, indeed, but I don’t know what’s wrong in this: I have created “new articles” category and I have added 5 products in this category. After that, in Template Builder, I have selected for Products slider “new articles” category, but on frontpage I see only this: No products found which match your selection.
This is because all my products are set to VARIABLE PRODUCTS (I need this for color and size filter for each product).July 23, 2012 at 6:14 pm #81473
The slider shouldn’t have any issues displaying variable products. You may need to refresh the products to get the element to recognize them again. Just open the product, make a modification to the item and then save it.

I’ve tried to edit and save more than a product. Nothing appears in the products slide.
P.S. I have 3 slides on index page: latest products, top rated products and from another category products. This can be the cause that the slide doesn’t work?

I’m not sure if what is happening is related to an old bug or with the old version of the theme combined with the new versions of WordPress and WooCommerce.
Try updating your theme files by downloading the theme from Themeforest and then uploading them in the same way you first installed the theme (either FTP or through wordpress admin).

Well, first time when I uploaded the the files on FTP, I had some errors during this process and I had to upload the files again.
I will try again and I’ll keep you up to date.
