1) Go to Portfolio > Add New and create 4 new portfolio entries. In addition create one or more portfolio categories and assign your portfolio entries to these categories.
2) Go to Pages > Add New and create a new page which will be used as portfolio page.
3) Go to Velvet > Theme Options > Portfolio and select the page you've created before (step 2) as portfolio page and select one or more portfolio categories which should be displayed on this page. You can select the portfolio layout too (number of columns, etc.).
4) At least hit the save button and view the portfolio page in your browser - it will show all portfolio entries which are assigned to the selected portfolio categories.

Dude thanks. I feel like I did these things when I created my dynamic page (Main page) to get pictures to fade / change. I do need to change the Title on my main page, (dynamic page) it is showing the down load demo title at this time. I think my confusion is with getting the portfolio to appear under the dynamic page or (main page). I can follow your steps but I believe that I have already chosen the dynamic page as my portfolio page and I did select 4 columns here is what i have. http://www.tv-stereorepair.com/business-furnishings/ it is in a file at this time url will be assigned when it looks right. Goal: 2,3, or 4 columns with portfolio pics linked to posts with video first and replace title. let me know if you viewed site and your ideas. thank you very much for your help. James

Hi Firstpage-James,
To get the portfolio items in a dynamic template, you need to add a Portfolio element to that template and not choose it from the template options>portfolio area. Those options are for creating an entire portfolio page like the demo page here: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/velvet/portfolio/
So go into your frontpage template and add a new element to it. It will be the Portfolio element and it has options that will allow you to customize and create the same thing as in the main frontpage of the demo.

Devin

Thanks Devin,
That makes sense, I will do this. One more thing, the title at the top of my dynamic page. How do I change it? See page. http://www.tv-stereorepair.com/business-furnishings/ Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Edit your template on the Template Builder then look for the "Heading" element.

Okay guys
I think I am getting close, question (1.) Do I need to create posts before I go into and set my ( front-page template / portfolio element). If I want them to be portfolio items (linked) ?
JamesPosted 8 months ago # -
No, the option should add the proper setting without any regard to if there are posts or portfolio items already created.
