If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I am very new to this so I am struggling to find a way to do the following thing which is probably very simple. Basically I want to have four boxes in a row on the frontpage underneath the slider (similar to the demo) which link to pages on the site and I want to have a small picture in the boxes underneath the title.
I don’t want to do it the way where you preview the page because I don’t really want the pictures that will be in the boxes on the actual page, if that makes sense. I have tried using the template builder and the column layouts but I just can’t get it to work.
if I understand you correctly you want this:
4 boxes next to eachother with each a title, an image and some content, this will then link to the page – on this page you DON’T want the image.
To do this you can use the columns in your template builder to include your page. Be sure to put a featured image on this page.
Now, to stop the template from including that image you can open your includes folder and open loop-page.php. (We’re now in Corona > includes > loop-page.php)
//call the function that displays featured images and slideshows within posts
if(strpos($avia_config['layout'], 'big_image') !== false) $image_size = 'page';
if(strpos($avia_config['layout'], 'fullwidth') !== false) $image_size = 'featured';
if(strpos($avia_config['layout'], 'medium_image') !== false) $image_size = 'blog';
$slideHtml = $slider->display_small($image_size);
$avia_config['slider_first_post_active'] = true;
and remove it, save and overwrite the file :)
