I added the flashlight theme to an existing site.

Viewing the site with firebug/safari network monitor. The server was providing the first page within a couple of seconds.

After adding the flashlight theme, it took over 3 seconds to deliver the first page. (This is just the html. No images/JS/CSS)

After adding WooCommerce, it can take anything from 9-25 seconds.

This is on a 4GB Xeon dedicated machine. Running PHP within IIS.

Any help is obviously greatly appreciated!

    Hi Ben,

By itself wordpress isn’t particularly quick. Add in a portfolio based theme and woocommerce and it starts to get a little slower. The topic of speed optimization is significant but typically you could look into a caching plugin to start with. The issue with using WooCommerce is the settings for the plugin then have to be set so that all of the product/ecommerce pages don’t get touched by the caching page.

    See: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/

You can also read a bit more about general speed tips here: http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/the-ultimate-quickstart-guide-to-speeding-up-your-wordpress-site/

    Regards,

    Devin
