    Hi,

I’ve added a load of video links to my sites portfolio, it shows the preview image fine in safari but for some reason they don’t all show in Firefox, it just shows a black box on some of them, any idea why? Is it do with the video setting themselves? I’m on an imac running Safari 5.1.5 and Firefox 13.0.1. Some links are vimeo and some are youtube but it doesn’t seem to make a difference as to what does and doesn’t show.

    Thanks!

    Cara

    Hi Cara,

Can you post a link to your website so we can take a look?

    Regards,

    Hi Mya,

I have the same problem, but in all browsers, nothing but the link shows. The link then activates the lightbox, but does not play the video. Please se for yourself (first portfolio post):

Please provide an example to achieve the video results in the demo:

    1. video is even (the same dimensions) as it’s neighbor(s)

    2. the grey rollover works.

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Hello Cara,

Checked your website on Firefox and it loads fine.

    Hi Ismael,

I’ve embedded the Vimeo link, but the preview looks uneven (too short) compared to the image previews in the portfolio. Also, the preview is not greyscale?

Can you please help? I’d like to move my site forward, but need to get things like ‘video’ working properly. Is there any documentation for adding video in the Angular theme? How about adding html5 video? Is that possible?

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Hi Ismael,

It seems to be a issue in the newest version of firefox, i just checked on another mac, they all loaded fine, then i downloaded the latest update for firefox and had the same problem again? Which version did you just check on?

    Thanks,

    Cara

    Hi Ismael,

I just added the Angular theme to a different domain:

    http://silobeer.com/

and imported the ‘dummy data’ in an effort to see how video is handled in the portfolio, but there is no video example in the ‘dummy data’?

    Why not include this example?

I’m beginning to wonder if it is possible to add video with the end result looking like the Angular Demo?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Hi Sean and Cara,

The video added in the demo is done in the exact same way you have on your site therealsean.com. When viewing your site with Firefox, I’m not getting the same error you are describing but it could be with a new build of firefox, mac specific issue or other.

Can you give your FF and OS version?

Just a secondary though when viewing your site Cara is that because all of the video is loading up at once right into the portfolio you could be running into memory issues/slow loading since there are so many calls being made to vimeo at once. I noticed that at first I would get black boxes on a few items but they would slowly load in and with a refresh or two completely load in.

You might need to use preview images (set after you’ve put in the link to the video) to give the browser a bit more flexibility in how it loads up the page.

    Regards,

    Devin
