    Using your video module, how can I control the size of the video and stop it from showing related youtube videos?

    Hi rhsheehan!

    Thank you for using the theme!

    Instead of using the video element, add a text block then insert the video as iframe. Something like this:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/PCGydpJXIOg?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Notice the rel=0 after the url? Go to the actual youtube video then click Share > Embed. Look for “Show suggested videos when the video finishes” and disable it. Get the embed code.

    Hi there,

    Not sure if this is the proper forum to ask, but I’m new to Enfold (just purchased two days ago) and not really techinical at all. Love the product thus far and it is very intuitive! Thanks for all your efforts in making us non-technical folks look good!

    My question is regarding videos. I have a Network Solutions website that I’d like to build and include videos. I have a video which I’ve uploaded to my media gallery (.mp4 format and 5MB size). However, it does not seem to play. I used the video component and filled in the proper information but when I view the page the video stays on “loading”. I tested by using one of the template videos that came with Enfold and it works. Please let me know what I’m doing wrong.

    If you access the video directly, you’d notice it does play but it’s just a black background, i made a test here:

    Hi!

    If you want it to be part of the video you’d need to edit the video with an editing software like iMovie or Sony Vegas.

    Thanks Josue. No I didn’t want it part of the video. I was hoping to have a layer on top (with the video in the background) and have the words scroll across. I was thinking of adding a slider, using the transitions, may be able to accommodate this but have been struggling with it. The sliders would contain all of the text that I wish to scroll on top of the video. Thoughts? Thanks for your patience!

    Getting back to the original question on the thread, it should be noted that if you use the iFrame method above the video will not be responsive.

    Is there some CSS that I can add in to used the embed code that allows ?rel=0 while also forcing it to re-size responsively?
    The Visual Composer editor allows it but Enfold’s Avia does not.

    Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it doesn’t work.
    Whether it is in the css applied to videos or in the actual code it works only for the width and doesn’t hold for the height.

    Example
    <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0Ua7I1ILoJw?rel=0" width="100%" height="auto" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>

    Using the widget in Enfold doesn’t let you add the inportant ?rel=0 code to a YouTube video and using the iframe code doesn’t let you make it responsive.

    you might have to just use the Enfold widget for the video then add the “Hide Related Videos” plugin.
    The plugin will also strip out the new Cards and End Screens which YouTube replaced Annotations with this last year, but it does work to hide the related videos.

    Issue with the Enfold video widget is that it is that is still doesn’t allow for Youtubes ?rel=0 code to hide related videos or other options for starting at a certain time ect. Do note that most browsers will disable your your videos if you try to auto play starting in 2018.

    The Issue with using YouTubes embed code in a Text/Code widget inside Enfold instead of the Video Widget is that you have no control or the aspect ratio or height as that is stripped out with the them. Setting them to auto or 100% makes a long skinny video that isn’t responsive.

    Alternatively you can use the Image widget to with a thumbnail of a video/player that links to the YouTube video with the ?rel=0 code on the end and it opens in a lightbox correctly.

    Would be extremely helpful if AVIA inside Enfold both allowed for Youtube’s ?rel=0 markup and also let us as our own custom preview Thumbnail which would help for Lazy Load and gives us more control as you may want your thumbnail to look different on your website than your YouTube Page. Also would let you embed someone else’s public video but have your own thumbnail for it on your website. Other editors that work on Enfold like Visual Composer allow for this but AVIA does not.

    I don’t understand much of your message, but we’re not using Youtube. We use a local mp4 file with the Video widget in Avia. Did something change over time with this widget and/or Enfold?

    Sorry I assumed you had it uploaded to YouTube especially since this thread was about using the Enfold Video widget with a YouTube video while hiding the related videos that show at the end.

    Typically is it is a best practice to not locally host or upload your videos and it works a million times better to upload them to YouTube or Vimeo then embed them into your website. From load time to compression, reliability, ect this is a much better way to do it. You can upload it as “unlisted” if needed so no one can search for it but you can still use the video url to embed into your website or use with the Enfold Video Widget.

    Either way the way rules apply that I mentioned where using the 100%/auto size rules with embed code instead of the Video Widget seem to get crazy with Enfold and you lose your ability to really control the height as it wont’s maintain the aspect ratio as the width changes. You can get into more complicated stuff and create a new class for the video container using php in in the back end editor but that gets a little messy.

    have you tried to upload said video to YouTube then use the Enfold Video Widget?
    That would probably be your best bet as upload directly to the site isn’t a best practice and can cause issues.
    You can hide related videos with the “hide related videos” plug in

    Don’t forget to remove browser cache or hard refresh before checking the page to refresh the stylesheets.

    I have tried both css codes and both fixed the width, but more than 100% (it ran off screen). And still can not see the play button.
    Any ideas?
