I have read that ecommerce wordpress websites do not function properly with caching and minifying plugins - that they cause the themes to malfunction.
I use W3 Total Cache and Max CDN on my other websites to make my websites load faster. But obviously I would choose functionality over speed if that is the best choice.
What is your recommendation?

I didn't found reports about conflicts between WooCommerce & WPML yet. As far as I know it's safe to use them together. However on the other hand I know that some shop plugins have problems with the w3tc file minification function or with the browser cache "gzip" compression.
