    Hello everyone.

    I want to put a welcome message in my site between the slider and the entries feed. I need this message to be available in the language the user selects.

    You can see in this image an idea of what I say. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/849/presentacin1qr.jpg/

    I don’t know about coding, so I appreciate your step by step instructions!

    You can visit http://www.laresdechacras.com to see how the welcome message works together with the entries feed (Note: this sample site is not using newscast).

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey!

    Open up index.php and replace:

    <div id="content">

    with:

    <div id="content">
    <div class="welcomemsg">
    My text....
    </div>

    and instead of “My text….” insert your own custom text.

    Regards,

    Peter

    Peter,

    Thanks for your help, however there is still one issue, “My text” is always visible on the English ans Spanish version. I need the welcome message to be shown in the language the visitor has selected.

    In the site I named before (www.laresdechacras.com) they are using a specific page to be shown as welcome message, is there an option that I create a page and tell de code to display that page before the entries feed?

    Thanks!

    Nicolas

    No, because the page layout and content container would mess up the blog structure. I’m not sure which translation plugin/tool you’re using but many plugins provide shortcodes or php functions which allow you to check the current selected language. If the plugin provides such a function you can use it to determine the right/required text. You can i.e. hardcode your text with a php “if” or “switch” conditional.
