can someone explain to me how this is supposed to work? i have posts with multiple categories selected. for these category archives, i cant show unique widgets. its just showing the generic one.

news is a top level category with nested categories under it. i have widgets that should be displayed on this category archive. i have a categories widget with the title 'Categories Test' and a text widget.
i have read some of the support forum posts re multiple categories and showing widgets. ive downloaded widget logic and have tried setting multiple parameters using conditional logic. none are working.
in the widget logic box...do i have to set an array with every possible combination of categories under news for this to show up?
is there a way to make this work without using widget logic plugin?
