Hi, I installed Coherence with the Dummy Data, and my sidebar widget area came populated with pages, categories, and archives widgets. I now need to edit the Sidebar Pages widget area, and the footer too for that matter, but cannot find where. I know, normally it's a drag and drop scenario, but no widgets are visible in the "Sidebar Pages" widget area for me to drag out. I did create a custom widget for one page, but this function only lets me create one custom widget for one page at a time. What am I missing? Do I need to reinstall without dummy data? Thanks!

This content is displayed because you didn't add some (custom) widgets to the widget areas yet. The dummy widget code can be found in coherence\includes\admin\register-widget-area.php - it's a function called avia_dummy_widget.

You need to create your own widgets to replace the ones that came in with the dummy data. I just dragged them off. If you do into the APPEARANCE/WIDGETS on the WP Dashboard, you will see all of the widget. There you can edit and add new ones.

Yes I know. I've created a dummy widget successfully. But when I try to create another custom widget, in theme options, in the "add new widget areas for pages and categories" I "select a page that should receive a new widget area" and it creates a new one, but the new one replaces the one I just created. Any ideas? Thanks!

Okay, I found it. I have to create all the custom widget pages at once. Doing one at a time only replaces the first one I did. Thanks Dude and elames.

Glad you were able to figure it out and thanks for posting your final fix :)
I hadn't realized doing one at a time would do that either so good bit of info for me as well.

Devin
