Won't save template or load post / page element

I have updated to wordpress 3.5 and purchased choices theme.

When I add a page/ post element I get an error message:

Couldn't add element because the server didn't respond
Please wait a few minutes and try again.

I then get an error when I want to save it:
Saving didnt work!
Please reload the page and try again

I have contacted my website provider and they say it is a scripting error that they cannot support.

I hope you can help me,

Hi Nat,

A few things to try. First, disable *all* active plugins that you have running. Close your browser, open it back up and when you get back to the wordpress editor give it another try.

Additionally, you can try re-downloading the theme files from your download on theme forest and reinstalling the theme. There could have been a file that got messed up on first download+install.

If it continues, switch to one of the default themes (twenty twelve for example) and try doing the same activities.

Nothing is working! I have loaded the theme twice and deactivated the plugins. Stuck! PLEASE HELP?

Had to restore template to factory settings and it works now! Now have to rebuild all templates!

Checked again. Won't allow me to add a post or page. But allows me to save. What now?

At what point will the template builder not allow you to add a post or page? Or is it wordpress?

It sounds like there is an issue with either the server setup or wordpress but the more information on how your installation is set up the better.

Template Builder:

1. I add a new template. It works on every element except the post or page where I get an error message:

Couldn't add element because the server didn't respond
Please wait a few minutes and try again.

2. I reopen the template builder and the post and page is showing.

3. I then start a new template, a very long one with many columns headers. I save it and then i get the error message:

Saving didnt work!
Please reload the page and try again

4. Now when I try an ad another template I get this message:

Couldn't add element because the server didn't respond
Please wait a few minutes and try again.

5. Nothing saves at all.

Please help. I rely on templates for this site and I really don't want to use short code to add buttons if I can help it.

I loaded abundance theme again and it is having the same problem. I have contacted my service provider and they say they do not support 3rd party themes. So I am completely stuck!

If it is an issue with the server setup, what do I do?
Do I need to reload wordpress again?

Not sure where to go from here.

All sorted. I got onto my service provider again and they uploaded a cache plugin to improve performance and it works great!

The plugin is called WP total cache
