I have followed previously posted instructions on changing the WP default behaviour on thumbnail cropping. This works perfectly for thumbnails, however I cannot find how to change the default thumbnail size for adjustable slider setting? It currently sets it to 290×216 (for my install). I would like all thumbnails to be the same width (300px), but portrait images to taller (500px max). Is this possible?
I guess there is a woocommerce equivalent of the functions.php image size setting, but I don’t know where.
Also, how do I disable the “related products” section in the product page?
Thanks in advance.January 30, 2012 at 8:29 am #62038
You can change the thumbnail sizes in propulsionconfig-woocommerceconfig.php and you’ll also find the realed product code there. Search for following code and delete it:
add_action( 'woocommerce_single_product_summary', 'avia_woocommerce_output_related_products', 60);January 30, 2012 at 11:58 am #62039
Thanks for the quick reply however I had already tried changing the values in the config.php file. However the values there do not represent actual image sizes.
Here’s an example from your Propulsion demo website. Go to the shop and click on the 3rd product. The image on the left hand side is 290px x 216px – how can I change it?
Here’s the values from the config.php file
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>80, ‘height’=>80);
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>450, ‘height’=>355);
$avia_config = array(‘width’=>450, ‘height’=>355);
Thanks again for your help.January 30, 2012 at 12:05 pm #62040
Here’s a direct link to the product page and image I would like to change
ThanksFebruary 1, 2012 at 4:08 am #62041
in Propulsion/config-woocommerce/woocommerce-mod.css you’ll find
.shop_columns_3 .products .product
This has a width of 30.5% – you can adjust this percentage or change it to any px width, for example 500px.
It would require quite some adjustments to make a difference between different types of images.February 8, 2012 at 2:58 pm #62042
You seem to have accomplished what I’m trying to do on my product page — show the uncropped, portrait-style image on the product page. Currently, the main image is 290px x 216px, as you’ve said. I tried altering the code as Chris suggest above to no avail.
Here is my product page: http://shopcalico.com/testblog/shop/clothes/draped-party-dress-teal/
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! :)February 18, 2012 at 8:57 pm #62043
I´m also interested in this. I tried to alter the code the way Chris suggested above, but that didn´t really change anything.
I´ve been playing around with different images sizes and when I upload an 290x290px image to the product page, it actually works :-).
The image is not being cropped at all, but as soon as I use a bigger image, it´s being cropped to 290x216px.
The 290px WIDTH works fine for me, it´s the HEIGHT (216px) that bothers me. I want it to be proportional.
Take a look at this: http://paperloveshop.com/product/wordpress-themes/keep-calm/
The first image is 290x290px. It´s not being cropped (you can see the full poster). Then click the thumb for the second image and you can see it´s being cropped to 290x216px. (The original size is 580x580px.) I understand the width cropping but why the height..??
1) Could you advise me what I need to alter, to achieve a proportional height cropping?April 18, 2012 at 1:17 pm #62044

Can you provide a link to the page and re-describe what your attempting to do. The thread has covered a few things and I want to be sure we are on the same page on what you are looking for now.

Thanks for the reply.
Take a look at http://www.ensignltd.co.uk/shop/rc01-guest-fees/
You’ll see the image on the top left has been cropped. We need to make it taller so the whole image is shown.
You’ll need to login to view the link. Use:

Have you tried regenerating your thumbnails? Try this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
I just did a quick test with the theme and woo commerce using a large portrait image and the image slideshow holder adjusted fine without any cropping like I’m seeing on yours. Your base image doesn’t seem to have any issues so maybe it just has the wrong thumbnail settings somehow.

Do you have any other suggestions of things I can check on this?
My client is getting anxious.
-AlexMay 1, 2012 at 8:27 pm #62051
Getting frustrated now with what in every other way is a great theme!
I’ve tried other things that are on this forum like http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/product-image-size-2
I’ve also noticed others seem to of had the same problem.
I can’t even find the 290×216 in any config file, including the functions.php.
I’ve tried changing the settings in WooCommerce -> Catalog.
Every time i use the regenerate thumbnail plugin.
A test product can be viewed here using the login posted previously:
If anyone else can help me with this i’ll happily offer a reward of $30..

YAY! I fixed this myself.
You need to change the following:
If you open ‘/wp-content/themes/propulsion/functions.php’ @line 40 you’ll see the following code:Code:$avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘portfolio’] = array(‘width’=>450, ‘height’=>335); // images for portfolio entries (2,3,4 column)
you can then set it to something like:Code:$avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘portfolio’] = array(‘width’=>450, ‘height’=>450, ‘crop’=>false);
