    Hello!

    I am trying to extend the width of the content box for solely my product pages, but not other pages.

    In Firebug, I am seeing:

    .content .box {
    float: left;
    margin-left: 221px;
    min-width: 430px;
    width: 430px;
    }

    as the selector to edit both. I have tried and tried to find a selector to select and edit the width (in this case, changing min-width to 500px), but every thing I have tried changes it on all pages.

    Wishing my other site pages content area to remain at 430px, but additional space for our images on our product pages.

    Thank you for any assistance with how to target this specific element for WooCommerce products only.

    Extra note, in conjunction with this naturally, extending the right sidebar with a margin-left: 70px; to accommodate this change, ie still display just to the right of the content box on the product pages. This however is throwing off the positioning for the right sidebar on my catalog pages, off 70pxs ;) Any way to target the sidebar element on just the single product pages?

    Any help on this appreciated. Spent several hours spinning in circles on this.

    Sample links:
    Single product page with right sidebar: http://dharmaeye.com/shop/kailash-ii/
    Sample page, no sidebar (desired width): http://dharmaeye.com/who-we-support/dharma-cause-support/
    Sample Catalog page, with right sidebar (desired placement): http://dharmaeye.com/gallery/all-images/

    All of these are at present size and setting as I have yet to figure out how to successfully extend and place box and sidebar for single product pages alone.

    Assistance appreciated.

    Hey Michael!

    Can you create a screenshot/mockup of what would you want to achieve?

    Best regards,
    Josue

    Hello Josue,

    Thank you for your help!

    This is what I am trying to achieve for all product pages – width of 500pxs for content box; 70pxs margin-left for categories menu sidebar, so it flanks the content box as on other cart pages:

    http://new.dharmaeye.com/screen/DharmaEye-DesiredProductPageDimensions.jpg

    I wish to achieve this so that:
    1) the content box stays the same dimensions on other content pages (non-cart-product, ie Pages in WP); and
    2) the categories menu sidebar stays same in other Cart catalog pages (ie not Single Product).

    This is such that these pages will remain the same as they are presently. As can be seen here:

    Pages (content box) – http://new.dharmaeye.com/who-we-support/dharma-cause-support/
    Cart Catalog – http://new.dharmaeye.com/gallery/all-images/

    Thank you for any help from you or others for achieving this.

    Hey Michael!

    The image link you posted is returning a Error 1011 (Cloudfare).

    If I click on the link in the forum here, it does not load; but if I copy and paste link in a new tab/browser window, opens fine.

    Let me know how it goes!

    Hi!

    “Error 1011 Ray ID: 152b32cc11cf0c6b
    Access denied
    What happened?
    The owner of this website (new.dharmaeye.com) does not allow hotlinking to that resource (/DesiredProductPageSample.jpg).”
    Can you upload screenshots on imgur.com or Dropbox public folder and post the links here?

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Did that happen when you copied to a new browser window, Yigit? Came up fine here.
    It is a Cloudflare element to protect our images embedded in the site galleries from download, but I had no problem opening the sample (which is not within of our main media folder).

    Regardless, here is a dropbox link:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nz3pubd24cruf5j/DesiredProductPageSample.jpg

    It is just as described and could be imagined, the content box on all single product pages in WooCommerce extended 70px wider, with the corresponding right sidebar extended the same dimensions to the right to still be just flanking the main content box.

    I simply want to do this on all Single Product pages, and not on other pages and posts (they remain same), but I have yet to find a selector to do this without changing other pages as well.

    Help requested with this. Thanks!

    Hi!

    I am sorry for the late reply!
    Yes, i tried to copy&paste the link to new tab but did not work.
    I tried to connect to your website but it seems like your website is out of memory. Please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
    You can contact your service provider to help you increase it as well

    Best regards,

    Hi Yigit,

    Curious that. Works fine here. Internet in Bali can be limited at times, and yet we’ve had no issues on site coming up.

    Also have checked memory. Previously upped it to 96M in wp-config, so am familiar. Checked with our host Media Temple and there is a 99M limit, so set it another 3M up! Media Temple is a high end host provider, so I presume rarely do web apps need more.

    Is there a common issue with WooCommerce eating up the php memory? Presume some people have thousands of products and it works. We have only 600, but of course all images – photography theme – but again presuming we shouldn’t be pushing the limits.

    Is there anything else I should be aware of in this regard? Ie minimizing memory use. Site is optimized through CloudFlare, and no bandwith issues. Only I imagine WooCommerce.

    Any info is appreciated. Hope you are able to access the site fine now. Do keep me updated! Continual access to all for the site, global, is of course a must.

    Hey!

    Yes, WooCommerce takes up a good bit of extra memory but at 99 you should be good to go. Is the MT limit on the grid server package or their dedicated plan? I’ve been using them for a few years but that is the first I’ve heard of a limit so just curious.

    It would sadly not surprise me if the server was still spotty as they have gone down hill since they were purchased by GoDaddy but what you have now *should* be pretty stable.

    For customization of product pages you can use the page class to target only those pages. Eg:

    #top.single-product .content .box {
        width: 500px;
    }
    #top.single-product .sidebar2 {
        left: 832px;
    }

    Cheers!
    Devin

    Thank you Devin! That worked like a charm.

    Terrible news about GoDaddy buying MT. That’s worse than when Hershey bought Dagoba chocolate. ;) At least the chocolate still tastes good! For years I navigated clients away from McHosting at GoDaddy, every time, to a decent host. And now they buy those up!

    So far not really problems, maybe a lil shift in support. I have had no other issues so far on php memory. Appreciate any tips or updates if any other degrades on their hosting quality make themselves known.

    As for the css… I did make a screen shot of the product pages for my portfolio the other day, and noticed that when zoom out on the webpage, after two zoom backs from normal, the right sidebar starts to appear behind a bit behind the main content box. I doubt any or many look at the page would normally look at it that way, but if there are any tips on how to make sure it always just flanks the content box (no problem when zoom in), do pass along.

    Thanks again for the great support!
    Michael
