When I install Display 1-2-3 in WP 3.2, I get a so-called “successful” install notice along with warnings that say the theme is “broekn” because no stylesheets were specified. Here’s the text:

Installing Theme from uploaded file: display-3-in-1-business-portfolio-wordpress-1.zip

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Theme installed successfully.

Warning: fopen(/home4/chercker/public_html/wp-content/themes/display-3-in-1-business-portfolio-wordpress-1/style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home4/chercker/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4339

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home4/chercker/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4342

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home4/chercker/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4345

    >> I checked, and the css folder and its contents appear intact, but I still get this:

    Broken Themes

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description

    display-3-in-1-business-portfolio-wordpress- Stylesheet is missing.

I’m very, *very* new at this. Any solutions will be warmly and gratefully received. Thanks! //DCR//

It’s most likely you’re trying to upload the wrong file. Here’s how to do it:

Please unzip the package you got from themeforest.net ONE time. You should get a folder which contains PSDs, Docs and another zip file (which is called display.zip. This zip file is the right file. Go to your wordpress admin panel and navigate to Appearance > Themes. Then select the display.zip file, upload & install it. You can also unpack this file and upload the folder via ftp.

Also have a look at this tutorial video @themeforest.net: http://wiki.envato.com/buying/support-buying/solving-broken-theme-issues/

Chris, to coin a phrase: It’s science, but it works like magic! That did the trick. Many thanks!
