The WPML plugin language selector menu duplicates the page content when in single product view, but works fine on homepage, group of products or showing all products.
I’ve currently checked the language selector menu in 3 positions:
1.-In the Header Menu, duplicates contents.
2.-In the My Account menu, also duplicates contents.
3.-In the footer it works fine, but it’s not the right place for it.
Currently I switched it off in the My Account menu, it is now only in the footer visible.
On WPML forum I read that this problem has other websites too. Please read that entry:
I don´t know if this is the problem. Please help me solve this!

No, probably this is not the problem in this case because Kriesi doesn’t use a custom loop/query for single product pages but Abundance just uses the default woocommerce template and modifies the design with some filters/actions a bit ( the code can be found in abundancewoocommerce-configconfig.php ). Did you try woocommerce translation plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/ ?November 15, 2012 at 10:18 am #97373November 16, 2012 at 6:31 am #97374November 19, 2012 at 7:39 pm #97376
In menus (wordpress) the Primary Menu for both languages cant be saved. Only for one. When I save the Primary Menu for hungarian language, than the english page has the hungarian main menu also. When I save than the Primary Menu in english, the hungarian page has the english Primary Menu also. In menus (wordpress) in the Main Menu (Primary Menu) box the menu disappears. Both languages have the same primary menu but with the Secondary Menu works correct.

I dont see any languages on your site but Magyar, Lets start from the begining. Are you setting up as a subdomain, a directory, or a query string to separate the languages?
When you add a page in your language, do you transfer to the English admin section and add the English version and then connect the two version? Does the admin button Abundance in the left admin menu become Abundance – EN? You have settings set somewhere that is telling WPML to automatically duplicate the content of language-1 and add it to language-2 most likely. Can you add English back into your theme? Also please go to where you downloaded the WPML plugin and also download and install the Strings plugin they have, and use it to scan the entire theme.

Yes, you cant see the other language, only when you are logged in. Because it is hidden for visitors.
My deafult language is Hungarian (magyar), the second language is English.
No, I dont make the two language version of a product separate and after connect them. I make it like following: I make the product in the default language (magyar), I open up the Edit product page, (magyar) than I push the blue + sign on right side under the Translate text, ( after that I am on the English admin section) and after that I push the Button: Copy Content from Magyar. Publish. The product is on the Shop Overwiew Page, but when I clikk the product, the single product page link is broken.
The admin button Abundance in the left admin menu doesnt become Abundance – EN. I send you a screenshoot about it)
This one of your questions I dont understand: – Can you add English back into your theme? – Does it mean, I should not hide it for visitors?
Dou you mean the WPML String Translation? It is activated, but I dont know, what to do with it?
What should I do with the Primery Menu issue?
Thanks: ÁgnesNovember 21, 2012 at 4:35 pm #97379
I am having a difficulty understanding the reason why you are using a WPML plugin when you do not want to translate your theme. If all you wanted to do was make Abundance be 100% in Magyar, there are much easier and cheaper ways to do it. WPML is the King of translation plugins, but its primary use is to allow you to create custom content in multiple languages, not just translate but actually create independent websites parallel to the primary language. My browser automatically translates your site into English, but its not a professional translation.
The reason you have ‘duplicate copies’ is because you assign to English what you write in Magyar. WPML does not automatically translate , but requires for you to either (a) translate into english, and paste the English yourself (b) you can hire a professional translator from WPML (automatically within the plugin) to translate the content for you. If you do none of those, then your english version of the website will only be copies of your Magyar original pages.
I am sorry, i don’t understand your question ‘ Can you add English back into your theme? ‘ .. I think you may be misunderstanding how the translation works, and I do not know why you would want to hide English, because your website looks interesting (at least to me).
At this moment, what needs to happen for you to be content with the products?

I think we misunderstand each other. Yes, I do want to create an independent website in english parallel to the primary language, this is what WPML for as you said. For the moment I want to hide the second language (english) content, until it will be perfectly ready without problems. I understand that WPML dont translate automatically the content of the pages (this we will do with a translator, who is already working on it), I want to use WPML to transfer the webshop products and all of their parameters: featured image, price, tax etc. in to the second language product page.
Maybe I could send you privately the admin Account info to my site, you would log in, then you could see and better understand the issues. Let me know if you want that.
There is a webshop, woocommerce on my site. All the pages work well in the second language except for the product pages.
Below I will summarise all the problems I have:
When I switch on the WPML language selector in the My Account menu and I go to single product view (in the magyar pages), it duplicates the page content. It means I see the same product description two times on the same page under each other. However this is only true to single product view, everything stays okay on other pages (group of products, all products etc).
I’ve checked the language selector menu in 3 positions:
1.-In the Header Menu, same, it duplicates contents
2.-In the My Account menu, again it duplicates content
3.-In the footer it works fine, but it’s not the right place for it (issue 2 and 3 still occur)
In menus (wordpress) the Primary Menu for both languages cant be saved. Only for one language.
a) When I save the Primary Menu for hungarian language, the english page gets the hungarian main menu as well.
b) When I save the Primary Menu in english, the hungarian page gets the english Primary Menu as well.
When I tried to save the english menu in the Main Menu (Primary Menu) it changed the hungarian main menu too to english, and when I saved the hungarian Main Menu it changed the english to Hungarian. Back and forth. Both languages have the same primary menu while the Secondary Menu works correctly. So literally on the Admin side I can see that it does not let me save the Main Menu in both languages but only in One.
When I try to create a product in the second language, I edit the product page, make the translation, press the blue + sign. The product in the second language will be visible on the shop overwiew page, its OK. But when I click on the product, the single product page link breaks. The broken page (second language product) link looks like this on the admin page: http://konyvmanufaktura.hu/en/automatikus-vazlat-3/notebooks/neske-notebook-awaiting/
This: automatikus-vazlat (which means automatic draft in hungarian)-3 could be the problem, I think, but I can only edit this part of the link: neske-notebook-awaiting/
Meanwhile I tried to ask for help on WPML.org forum, this is the answer I have got:
“In case this points turn out to be a “theme / WPML incompatibility” issue then what we would recommend is that you contact your theme author and ask him to join our “Go-Global” program.
We work with theme/plugin authors to solve compatibility issues between their themes/plugins and WPML.
We are happy to work with any author who shows interest in this by contacting us through this link http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/ “

Do you have a development version of your site, something like dev.your-domain.hu? I am not sure I feel comfortable working on a live site. If that is not an issue with you, you can send me the temp login/pw to usjahm (aaatttt) gmail (dddooottt) com.
Please give me a day or so.
NickNovember 22, 2012 at 3:34 pm #97382
I dont have a development version of my site, it is a live site. I will save a backup of my site, after that I will send you the login to the site private.

meanwhile I got answer on wpml.org forum to my problems, so I am waiting if the can solve the issues. If not, I will send you the admin data to my site.
