    Updated Propulsion from 1.8 to 2.0 today

    On XP IE 8 (sigh) slideshows not working, fonts are huge in places, footer social media icons are missing. Tried deactivating widgets but it didn’t help so I activated them again. Looks good everywhere else so far.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Add this on your custom.css or Quick CSS

    body {
    font: 13px "HelveticaNeue", "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif !important;
    color: #444;
    }

    a, html.html_stretched, #lang_sel_footer {
    background: #333333 !important;
    }

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Thanks but that custom.css change had no effect on IE8

    In addition to previously reported: slideshows not working, fonts are huge in places, footer social media icons are missing,

    the only place images are working is related posts and the sizing is not correct. Div ID “wrap all” is very short, it should be the the entire page. Tags have no spaces between words…

    I noticed that you used screenr on another post so I made a video. Here’s how the site looks .

    http://www.screenr.com/AeMH

    Starts with the home page – no images and text on the site quite large… as stated before

    3:02 shows Recently Posted

    4:51 shows Firefox – ok

    2:08 shows how images looks on pages and posts

    I also noticed a metatag suggestion but it didn’t help:

    I know ie8 can look not so great – but this is off the charts bad…

    Please advise.

    Hi dbvdb,

    Not sure how you are actually getting that result. Testing it on my end in IE8 I’m getting very little difference from IE9/any other browser.

    My guess is there is something else in play either on your network or computer. If the browser is getting pushed into compatibility mode for some reason or something similar.

    But completely broken fonts like that should really be out of the question as even the most basic header classes, css widths and things like that are supported all the way back to IE6.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Thanks for getting back on this.

    I thought maybe it was “just me” so I had a friend test it on her computer and it looks the same as mine.

    IE>tools>compatibility mode> website is not listed and “display all websites in compatibility mode” is not checked and ripped paper icon is not showing next to the URL so I don’t think it is in compatibility mode.

    The Propulsion demo looks good on the same browser.

    Any suggestion as to what settings I am missing or anything to assure client.

    If you have not modified the actual theme files you could just re-upload a fresh copy of the theme on top of what you have now and see if that helps.

    If you have modified things, you can go file by file on some of the major ones to try and find the source of the issue. Start with the header.php then go to the footer.php, sidebar.php etc and see if that helps root out where the difference is.

    ok… I did reload the entire theme before posting here. Very few changes but that’s a good idea… will try it.
